Accounts Receivable Specialist

Key Responsibilities

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the following areas:

  • Claim processing and submission
  • Submit the claim to insurance companies in order to receive payment for services rendered by a healthcare provider (Hospital, Physicians)
  • Taking denial status from various insurance carriers
  • Checking eligibility and verification of policy
  • Analysis of the data
  • Converting denials into payments
  • Follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Patient eligibility verification
  • Account follow up on fresh claims, denials and appeals
  • Checking the claim status as per their suspension and denials
  • Achieving weekly/monthly audit target
  • Giving feedback
  • Completing audits for error correction
  • Taking quality pre-shift briefing on daily basis
  • Supporting the team in process improvement initiatives

Accounts Receivable Specialist Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent with strong analytical skills
  • Minimum of 1-2 years Accounts Receivable (A/R) experience in a hospital or physician healthcare setting or similar customer service position
  • Analytical
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
