The Facility Auditor/Educator will support accurate coding audit reports and assist in preparation or execution of coder education for Gebbs.
Qualifications:
- Coding certifications through AAPC or AHIMA (CCS, CDIP, RHIA, RHIT, CIC) required.ย
- Minimum of 3 yearsโ preparing facility coding audits and education
- Strong knowledge of coding disciplines; Facility Coding & Audit and Education.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing and payment methodologies, including coding guidelines for ICD-10, Queries, DRG assignment, etc.
- Prior expeiernce providing remote education required
- Comprehensive knowledge of procedure and diagnostic coding for facility services and Medicare, Medicaid and other 3rd party payer coding regulations.
- Able to yield high quality second level coding audits via a manual coding audit process or technology enhanced audit tool
- Knowledge of quality metrics and commitment to enforcement of standards
- Multi-speciality coding expertise with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentย
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsย
- Strong computer skills including MS Office (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel and Word)ย
- Ability to multi-task and set/meet multiple deadlinesย under pressure with initiative, tact, and poise ย This is a work-from-home position that is full time.
Responsibilities :
- Leverage extensive knowledge of federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to documentation, coding and billing of Facility Inpatient records
- Analyze and identify opportunities for documentation improvement and prepare reports, presentations and recommendations based on the analysis
- Analyze and identify opportunities for physician queries and prepare reports, presentations and recommendations based on the analysis – Communicate with Quality Assurance team and client ATA findings.ย – Provide recommendations on actions to be taken for improvement to internal management team.ย – Perform Facility Inpatient Second Level audits and education for a large academic multi-specialty health system. – Previous Cerner/Orale EMR experience required
