  • AAPC or AHIMA Certification (RHIA, RHIT, CEMC, CPC, CCS) medical coding certification required
  • Five to seven years’ experience in medical coding/billing with at least three in a management role
  • Subject Matter Expert in Professional Fee Coding, including Radiology, IP and OP EM, Surgery.
  • Strong people management skills to include hiring, development and performance management
  • Must have strong financial acumen skills and an awareness of how to manage projects profitably.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement processes and approaches
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in business or healthcare-related field of study preferred
  • Strong project management, verbal and written communication, customer service and analytical skills
  • This is a client facing role. Individual must have the ability to present and communicate with varying levels of client’s management team 
  • Possess strong leadership qualities of integrity, the ability to motivate others and the ability to promote quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must – Up to 10% travel
  • Maintain an effective client relationship for the organization and build client trust
  • Identify project, process and people challenges early and initiate appropriate action to address
  • Manage financial outcomes (revenue and margins) for projects and reporting on results
  • Ensure the quality of coding for a project is at an acceptable level and that the production volume is achieving the desired results
  • Manage a team of coders and ensure they are engaged and maintain acceptable performance levels (productivity and quality)
  • Participate as a member of management team and provide feedback on processes for improvement, understand company policies, vision and functions and effective communicate and collaborate internally to achieve business results
  • Onboard new clients following established processes, collaborating with the appropriate functions to ensure a successful launch
  • Production Coding and/or QA support – 10 hours per week
