HCC Risk Adjustment/E&M Coding Specialist ย GeBBS is looking for a remote coder with HCC and E/M coding experience specific to family practice, OB, and Womens Wellness visits. Remote coder will assign appropriate E/M, CPT and ICD-10-CM codes, mapping to risk adjustment models as applicable in an ongoing concurrent HCC coding project. Coders will also be expected to capture E/M levels as well as standard procedures related toย family practice, OB, and Womens Wellness visits.ย Minimum of 15 hours a week required. ย ย
Qualifications:
- This is a W2 position for a long-term project
- EPIC experience is preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 10-15 hours a week – Current CRC, CPC, CCS, or equivalent through the AAPC or AHIMA required – Minimum 5 years coding experienceย
- Minimum 3 years of Evaluation and Management experience
- Minimum 3 years of CMS-HCC experience
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM outpatient and inpatient diagnosis coding guidelines (knowledge and demonstrated understanding of Risk Adjustment coding and data validation requirements is highly preferred);
- Ability to code using an ICD-10-CM code book (without using an encoder)
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations.
- Strong clinical knowledge related to chronic illness diagnosis, treatment and management
- Reliability and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines (24-48 hour turnaround time on all assigned charts)
- Personal discipline to work remotely without direct supervision
- Exemplary attention to detail and completeness-all medical coders must maintain minimum QA passing requirements based on HCC scoring model
- Strong organization skills; interpersonal and customer service skills; written and oral communication skills; and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to maintain a 95% accuracy rate
- Must be able to commit to working a minimum of 10 hours per weekย

Responsibilities :
- Remote HCC coder willย assign appropriate ICD-10-CM codes, mapping to risk adjustment models as applicable in an ongoing concurrent HCC coding project. Coders will also be expected to capture E/M levels.

- Single DOS – Expected charts per hour 8+ – Assign appropriate ICDโ10-CM codes, mapping to risk adjustment models as applicable
- Assign appropriate CPT and modifiers based on documentation
- Log coding changes on a separate worksheet for provider feedback
- Remain current on diagnosis coding guidelines and risk adjustment reimbursement reporting requirements
- Check chart assignments every day and accurately report all hours worked on a daily basis
- Maintain quality and production standards required by company
- Report work-related concerns to project manager
- Comply with the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association and adhere to official coding guidelines
- Comply with HIPAA laws and regulations.
- Participate in testing and training as required by the Company
