HIM Operations Manager/Assistant Director Descriptionย  The HIM Operations Manager is responsible for monitoring the overall functions of the HIM Department for the delivery of professional and comprehensive service to customers. Supervise and coordinates the activities of Health Information System operations personnel including the selection, training, and evaluation. Assists with developing and evaluating new and existing policies and procedures to ensure that they are consistent, accurate, complete and in compliance with CMS, SDOH, The Joint Commission and Hospital requirements and guidelines. Develop and update department work-flowย standards. Provide assistance with vision and goals for planning, management, integration, and upgrades of health information systems. Provides ongoing project management for testing work-flowย enhancements and training of all systemsย  ย  This position is onsite in Hollywood, Florida for the first 60 days and will offer a hybrid schedule after that.

  • Skills Requiredย  – Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and APC/DRGย 
  • Must work well under pressure, ability to manage staff and multiple projectsย 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinkingย 
  • Strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail and knowledge of HIM work-flow/processes and data collectionย 
  • Excellent written/oral communications with professionals at all levels both internal and external to the organizationย 
  • Strong PC skills and experience with health information systemsย 
  • Demonstrated leadership skillsย – Strong knowledge of operational and project management
  • Current in state, local, federal, and accreditation compliance regulations and guidelinesย  ย  Training & Educationย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in health information management/health informatics or related field requiredย 
  • Masterโ€™s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferredย  – RHIAย 
  • RHIT/RHIA with CCS, CPC or CCDS preferredย  Work Experienceย  – 3 years supervisory/leadership experienceย  – 3 years of health information management experienceย – 1 year experience in coding and clinical documentation improvementย
